A 23-year-old drug suspect, one of Zamboanga Sibugay’s top drug personalities, fell in a buy-bust operation Monday, May 11.
Ranmark Anad Tupaz, a resident of Purok Tubod Bato, Barangay Veterans Village, Ipil Zamboanga Sibugay has been on the list of the provincial Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for years now.
He fell into the hands of the operatives when one PDEA agent posed as a buyer of shabu befriended him.
The PDEA agents arrested him for selling and possessing sachets of shabu at the vicinity of Purok Evangeline, Ipil Heights on Monday early afternoon.
“I was touched by his life story, on how he gets into the illegal drug trade, but that doesn’t excuse him from the retribution it’ll caused him for violating the law,” said PDEA Sibugay Provincial Officer Dorothy Joy E. Villoso.
Ranmark, the eldest of five siblings, intimated his childhood memories to his friend, the PDEA agent posing as a buyer.
His parents broke up when he was still a child, said Ranmark.
He has tales of how hard it is for him to take charge of his siblings, himself did not have a college education.
The suspect showed his ballistic trauma on his abdomen, whom he claimed he got when he was 13 years old.
He was involved in gang troubles at that early age, the suspect said.
He owns up how young he started using drugs, acted as courier to a famed drug syndicate, and ended up trading drugs himself.
The suspect hated his lonely, and wretched childhood.
He didn’t break a sweat during the interview with PDEA.
But he appeared trouble when explained he might spend years in jail for violating the anti-illegal drugs law. (Mindanao Sun)
