PDEA agents arrest 4 drug traffickers, rescue a minor

Drug enforcement agents have arrested Tuesday four drug traffickers and rescued a minor they used as a courier in operating a clandestine drug den in Cotabato City.

The drug den operators were identified asJaypee Fernandez Dela Cruz, Mary Joy Paraba Dela Cruz, Jonathan Lambo Cabantog and John Lloyd Fernandez.

They are now in the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM).

Jamal Azurin, PDEA-BARMM director, said they turned over the rescued minor to the city social welfare office.

PDEA agents arrested the four suspects after selling P170,000 worth of shabu to plainclothes agents in an entrapment operation in Barangay Rosary Heights 13, south of the city.

Azurin said they will prosecute the suspects for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
